Benchmark occupies a unique space as a non cad-centric cogo application; it is still used regularly by many surveyors who need a simple, fast, accurate and reliable application on their desktop.     In the course of our discussions with long time customers we’ve learned a lot about what the surveyors seem to be looking for in software solutions. Sometimes a  CAD based cogo application might not be the right solution for everyone.

We’ve also been friends with the folks at Carlson Software for a long time.  They have made surveyors their prime market and have done a fine job of building applications that reflect the reality of how the profession gets its work done.

We've also discovered that many of our old clients that had originally purchased Softdesk or Autodesk solutions have migrated to Carlson because of issues with functionality, ease of use and ongoing cost of ownership. Most are happy with that decision and would recommend their choice to their fellow professionals.

Carlson early on acknowledged the popularity of Benchmark by including point migration solutions to and from Benchmark  into their products. Since Benchmark for Windows has now reconnected us to the land surveying community, we think it is appropriate to be offering Carlson’s solutions in conjunction with Benchmark.
